When i first heard about this game i thought it wouldn't be fun at all, but it turned out to be so much fun since you drive across the country. the only problem about this game is that the cars drive really slow and if you have stopped at a traffic light and your truck is perfectly stopped in the lane, the cars still honk and flash their lights at you. But i have to say this is a fun game.

Here is a story, at first when I got this game it was very choppy and slow, but it definetely improved (I had this a few years now) and it is really fun. The traffic isnt' as realistic as in the first game and the cars drive real slow and strangly, but I got used to it and love it now. I don't reccomend passing cars on the two lanes, since you might get a ticket from a cop cuz you are "driving on the wrong side" If you do pass (which I do quite a bit) hurry! The game is fun on the interstate cuz the traffic density varies depending on time of day. It is fun to pass cars. And in town, it is pretty realistic driving, I like to go through the yellow traffic lights (I stop for some too.) And driving with the loads is great, and dropping them off is too.
This game is GREAT!! -Going to play it right now!!

This game is VERY realistic.
I liked all the features, especially the map, plus the traffic systems and, you know, so on.
I wish they could add a few more touches like this:
1. You have to REALLY scratch out a living/that means that there were like grocery stores so like every time you got hungry or thirsty you could park inside a parking lot or so and you could open the door to get out and head to the store but I don't want labels on the buildings!
2. Cars could use turning signals/I really like to use them A LOT. Go to the Valusoft Technical Support for the 18 Wheels of Steel: Across America game.
I promise you you may see some controls like CB and the turning signals.
But it's OK even without these small touches because all in all, this was a GREAT game.
Thank you.
Also, I don't think I found it in one of the Wal Mart Shopping stores I visited.
Where can it be bought online?
I bought it from here.
This is MUCH better.
You should get the one ANGELMARIQUINA.

I like this game and play it a lot. The most challenging aspect is the actual driving of the truck. The steering is very touchy and crashes into other vehicles or the guard rails is common, so watch it. Hence: drive slowly at first and take your time. The play is almost rum dumb because all you do is drive to deliver loads from one city to another across the United States. The object is to be the preferred carrier of all cities nation wide.
Now, lets talk computers: If you don't have a BIG one, forget this game because it takes more than the minimum to run this game smoothly. Recommendations from me are, 1 gig ram, 128 ram video card, a good sound card, and 2.2 processor. Trust me, it could take more to run well. This game is a resource sucker. (I have 1.0 processor, 512 ram, and 32 ram video card and all settings are set to very low in the game and it crashes to the desk top about every 15-30 minutes. I have to save the game at every fuel stop or weigh station to keep from loosing my progress.)
It has a patch and can be downloaded from valusoft.com. Do it.
Over all, it is not a bad game and I enjoy playing it. The graphics are pretty cool as you drive around the U.S. and the upgrading of trucks to obtain a better and faster truck is fun also. I think it sells at Wal-Mart for $10 now. It's worth it!
